A huge thank you and well done to the 250 staff from Pernod Ricard Wineries (PRW) who joined us on Thursday 7th June at 4 sites across New Zealand for their annual Responsib’All Day. Tools in hand, they rolled up their sleeves and worked all day long to help out at key sites in their community. Responsib’All day is a global Pernod Ricard event where staff stop all activities for 24 hours and turn their efforts to helping their local communities. Pernod Ricard’s 8th Responsib’ALL Day saw 18,500 employees worldwide engage in over 100 local community projects to show their commitment and contribution to society. 20018 also marks PRW and Conservation Volunteers New Zealand’s (CVNZ’s) third year in partnership with Responsib’all Day in New Zealand.
As water and biodiversity are key to Pernod Ricard’s business, the activities focused on planting native trees and shrubs in some stunning parts of the country to increase biodiversity, clean waterways, and provide habitat and food for native species. We planted an amazing 8,300 trees at Waitawa Regional Park and Pt. England Reserve in Auckland, Godley Head in Christchurch and Waitangi Regional Park in Napier while also removing invasive pest plants that are threatening biodiversity.
As always, PRW volunteers achieved a huge amount on this day. The sun was shining but heavy rains running up to the events in Auckland made for difficult and slippery slopes. Christchurch and Hawkes Bay had some seriously cold weather to contend with but spirits were high and what an amazing achievement by a wonderful group of people who never cease to impress us with their hard work and fantastic attitudes.
Pernod Ricard Winemakers and Conservation Volunteers New Zealand (CVNZ) began their partnership in 2015 and has partnered for 2 years on their Responsib’All Day projects. Pernod Ricard Winemakers is an industry advocate for sustainable environmental management and through this collaboration has seen the engagement of their employees in conservation activities at key sites across New Zealand with a focus on healthy waterways and communities.
