Mondelez and CVNZ partner on the Papakura Stream for another year.

Partner for Impact - Volunteers from Mondelez NZ planting trees, shrubs and grasses on the Papakura Stream Restoration Project with Conservation Volunteers New Zealand
The team here at CVNZ and very happy to be partnering with Mondelez for another year on our Papakura Stream Restoration Project in South Auckland. Having first teamed up in 2019, Mondelez NZ are one of our longest standing partners and as our first corporate partner on the Papakura Stream, they were an important part of getting this restoration project off the ground.
With Mondelez support, we kicked off planting alongside the stream in 2021 with the planting of 12,500 native plants and extensive weed control. Mondelez also funded $15,000 worth of fencing through Future Posts fences which are made using the soft plastic that you drop off at the supermarket for recycling. In 2022, the project grew substantially to involve 1,500 volunteers in the planting and after care of 41,000 new native plants.
Mondelez staff also play an important part in the project by rolling up their sleeves to help us plant and care for native trees and to remove invasive weeds and rubbish from our waterways. We’re delighted to have Mondelez onboard for another year and can’t wait to see how this project can progress with their support.
