Race to Restore - Join the World Environment Day Planting Challenge

Volunteers planting on the Papakura Stream Restoration Project in Auckland with Conservation Volunteers New Zealand

Will your company be this year’s champion?

Want to volunteer to plant in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch or Punakaiki? Do you have what it takes to win our 2024 Corporate Planting Challenge?

Each year, on World Environment Day, CVNZ invites corporate volunteers from around the motu to take part in a high-energy, fiercely competitive tree-planting challenge. The competition is simple: teams have just two hours to plant as many trees, shrubs and grasses as they can.

Last year was our biggest year yet, with competitors planting a whopping 8520 plants! We had teams competing in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington, and Ōtautahi Christchurch.

We’re so grateful to our volunteers for their mahi and dedication to restoring the environment. These plants are a massive boost for the environment. They provide food and habitat for our precious native birds, bugs and lizards, and they improve the health of our waterways by filtering out contaminants.

What you need to know:

This year, the Corporate Planting Challenge is on Friday May 31.

CVNZ makes it easy and fun for your team to take up the challenge. We provide all the tools, equipment and plants you need. Our experienced team leaders are first-aid trained and will be there to guide you through the event. And when the time is up, we’ll celebrate your achievements with a BBQ and prize-giving.

The challenge is open to corporate groups of up to ten people based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Punakaikai and Ōtautahi, and costs $1500 per team.

If you and your team have what it takes, dig deep and sign up now – limited spots are available!
