Dylan is extremely passionate about Aotearoa’s native flora and fauna and believes deeply in the importance of spending time outside in and connecting with te taiao (nature). He has been able to share this passion with people, since joining Conservation Volunteers as a Conservation Officer in 2019. In 2018 he gained a certificate in Rongoā Māori and since then has been extremely grateful to see and share knowledge of the environment from a whakaaro Māori (Māori Worldview). Moving to Ō-Tautahi in 2021 he is now in his 3rd year of learning te reo Māori and continues to love working for CVNZ as a project co-ordinator, working over a variety of projects and tasks. Manaaki whenua, manaaki tangata, haere whakamua (Care for the land, Care for the people, go forward!).
