Gemma England CVNZ

Gemma was fortunate to grow up on the beautiful Hibiscus Coast where she spent most weekends exploring the many beaches and reserves that the region has to offer. The area instilled in her an appreciation and curiosity for the natural world which led her to pursue a career in conservation.

Gemma joined CVNZ in 2021 as a Conservation Officer in Tāmaki Makaurau. After completing a Masters which focused on kākāpō conservation, she moved to Te Whanganui-a-Tara. She joined our Wellington team as a casual Conservation Officer before stepping into the role of Conservation Coordinator.

Gemma loves working alongside community groups, volunteers and other passionate individuals to help protect and restore our native ecosystems! In her spare time, she explores the Tararua Ranges and enjoys Wellington’s local music scene.
