Katie Dunlop

Katie lives in Whakaraupō on the Banks Peninsula. She fell in love with the outdoors at a young age when holidaying with her family in Fiordland and Stewart Island. Since then, she has taken every possible opportunity to be surrounded by nature including living in the mountains in Canada, volunteering with the DOC Kiwi team on the West Coast, working as a DOC ranger on Ulva Island, participating in various braided river bird counts and working on Quail Island. Katie loves sharing her passion for New Zealand’s native species with her team. With an extensive background in health, Katie is a strong advocate for the mental health benefits of being out in nature, and she has studied Horticulture and Biology and Ecology.
