Mitch Baber, Conservation Coordinator, Papakura Stream Restoration Project, Auckland, Conservation Volunteers New Zealand

Mitch grew up in West Tāmaki Makaurau. His connection to the Waitakere ranges has evolved into a passion for restoring and preserving our natural environment.

Mitch Studied Applied Conservation and GIS at AUT for four years, and has been working in restoration and conservation in the four years since finishing university. Mitch was previously the CWS Team Leader for Auckland and has also worked casually as a Conservation Officer.

Mitch states that, ‘I’m very excited to be the Conservation Coordinator for the Papakura Stream Restoration Project. I love working with the CVNZ team and this project is something that I have become very connected to while working casually for CVNZ’.

In his spare time, Mitch loves to be outside, make music, and socialize with  friends and Whanau.
