Originally born in Sweden, Nérida moved at a very young age to live in Argentina, where she graduated Biology with an ecological orientation. In 2000 she came to New Zealand to have an overseas experience and immediately fell in love with its landscapes and culture. Here she did a masters in ecological restoration for which she received a Bright Futures scholarship. Nérida returned to Argentina for a time where she was certified as a lead auditor for environmental standards. However, tired of working in offices with procedures and industries, she decided to return to New Zealand to work in the love of her life – conservation. It was then that she got a job at CVNZ as a Team Leader for the Conservation Work Skills programme. Here she discovered a new passion by linking her great love for conservation and a social approach.
