2019 was a big year for us here at Conservation Volunteers New Zealand. We started lots of great new projects such as our Conservation Work Skills Programme, Wasp Wipeout and New Migrant Programme. We worked with many new partners and volunteers, planted lots of trees and pulled lots of weeds. Best of all, we met and worked alongside so many new and old volunteers and because of you, achieved so much.
In 2019, with the help of approx. 10,000 volunteers, CVNZ planted almost 150,000 native trees and shrubs across New Zealand. We also collected 14,615 kg of rubbish, propagated 130,000 native seedlings and weeded more than 400,000 m2 of conservation land. On top of this, our volunteers conducted water quality surveys, repaired fences, maintained tracks, collected seeds and so much more. You guys are amazing and we couldn’t do it without you.
We’re gearing up for an even bigger 2020. The world needs our efforts now more than ever. We are always on the lookout for new sites and projects to support, and sponsors and volunteers. Keep an eye out for ways to get involved or contact [email protected] to find out more.
