Conservation in the Big Slow Down – What would you like to see from us?

Wow! Doesn’t life feel different when each day is a day spent at home rather than at the office, at school or university, or out volunteering?

Even though we can’t be out there together tree planting or controlling weeds, there’s still lots to do towards conservation in New Zealand. Our vision here at Conservation Volunteers New Zealand is “inspiring change by connecting people with nature” but how can we do that at home?

We would love for you to tell us what kind of support you would like to stay engaged with conservation during the lockdown.

Do you want information about invasive weeds and controlling them? Or ideas for kids’ activities in the garden? How to get your teenager engaged with composting? What else would be useful?

How would you want to receive that information? Videos? Interactive online workshops? Worksheets for kids? Are there other groups you are already connecting with for good ideas that are worth sharing?

Please follow this link to a very short survey to tell us what we can do to help you and our beautiful environment, from your own backyard. Please also share with anyone else you think may be interested.
