Have your say on the Papakura Stream

Conservation Volunteers New Zealand is currently working on an environmental initiative, The Papakura Stream Landowner Engagement Survey, and we would love to invite landowners and businesses situated along the streamside and in the catchment to have their say.

The purpose of this survey is to engage with residents, mana whenua, businesses, landowners and industry along the Papakura Stream and within the catchment to determine priorities for stream restoration, raise awareness around the health of the waterway, and encourage participation or sponsorship of future restorative action. We hope to identify what support landowners need to encourage them to get involved in restoration activities and what they see to be the main barriers. This strategy will be useful to create a shared vision for the three local boards who have sponsored it – Manurewa, Papakura and Franklin Local Boards.

CVNZ also hopes to identify future restoration projects that we can assist in and identify groups who would like to assist in these projects with in-kind support, sponsorship, volunteering etc.

To get involved: Please contact Elisa at [email protected] or call 0800 567686. We can have a chat over the phone or come for a visit.

For sponsorship opportunities: Please contact Siobhan at [email protected] or 021 878869.
