CVNZ has been working with Mondelez International on a variety of different projects and partnerships since late 2018. The Mondelēz New Zealand people’s partnership is focused around supporting meaningful community projects and providing volunteer events for their, primarily Auckland based, staff. These events provide team building opportunities and away to get involved and give back to meaningful projects that benefit their communities.

Mondelēz NZ staff are extremely active on our volunteer projects. Each year, we run a variety of events for the Mondelēz team ranging from tree planting, litter clean ups, weed control, plant maintenance and propagation in native plant nurseries. Part of this partnership also offers staff a chance to participate in our annual corporate tree planting challenge which Mondelēz has won for a second year running. Additional sponsorship allows us run community events for local communities which are also often attended by staff.

This partnership also funds many environmental inputs that make our projects possible. Since early 2021, the partnership has taken on a strong focus on the Papakura Stream Restoration Project and funding was extended to cover trees and fencing from Future Posts–recycled plastic fence posts to protect this stream.  To date, funding from Mondelez NZ has allowed us to buy, plant and care for 4,000 native trees, conduct 300 hectares of predator control in the Waitakere Ranges and get countless community volunteers and groups out on projects that cover tree planting, invasive weed control and litter clean ups.
