Conservation Volunteers New Zealand welcomes people with a love of the outdoors and an interest in the environment to get involved. You don’t need any prior skills or experience, just a reasonable level of health and fitness.
What you’ll be doing
Volunteer
Discover your environment and make a difference to our natural habitat by joining us on one of our many projects. We welcome volunteers all year round to help out with events and projects in Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington and Punakaiki.

Residential Volunteering
We run multi-week volunteering projects across Aotearoa New Zealand. These projects are a chance for volunteers to restore habitats, meet new friends and be immersed in nature. Team leaders run each project with food and accommodation are all included, with our costs kept to a minimum. They’re great for locals and international visitors alike with current projects are based at Ātiu Creek just north of Auckland, Punakaiki, historic Truby King House in Wellington, and Paterson House in Christchurch. Our Wild Heart Projects run year-round – focus on one project, or plan an itinerary where you get to volunteer across a number of our locations.

Organise a Volunteering Event
Want to get your team out on a team building day? CVNZ can work with you to develop an event to help your group contribute to your community and environment in a meaningful way. You can either join an existing project in smaller groups (depending on availability) or you can support our work by sponsoring an event just for your team.
